One of my greatest passions in life is watching life inspired movies and getting to know the story of those who made something remarkable with their life, to lear from them, to see their failures and their winnings. One of my favorite artists is Lady Gaga, so it was quite normal to hold my breath for her latest movie, “A star is born”. The fact that Bradly Cooper was on the cast helped also :))
High expectations of a highly promoted movie
“A star is born” is that kind of the movie where they invested in marketing and PR almost as much as they had invested in the movie:)) Everyone was talking about it for months now, all of my girl friends were waiting to see it, posting on social media the trailer or pictures from the movie. So, yeah my expectations were really high when i went to press premiere last night. As i knew lots of things about Gaga, i saw the resemblance with her own life, but also the things that didn’t fit. I was expecting a good movie, but not something deep, definitely not something that would make me cry like 70% of the movie!
Oh, i got so much more than I was expecting! “A star is born” is the love story of two persons with lots of insecurities, trying to find someone to love them as they are, beneath the looks or the glam. “A star is born” it tells the love story we all dream of.. it tells the real story! The one where things are not easy, where life is not toast, milk and honey. It talks about addiction, about being sick, about being weak, about dreaming with your eyes wide open, but above all it talks about that kind of love where people don’t give up on each other. In an era where we search the perfect instagram relationship, the perfect feed, the perfect picture, Ally and Jack, remind us what truly matters in a relationship. Having someone turn your house into a home is worth more than 1 million followers or likes for that #couplegoals post.
SYNOPSIS
“A Star is Born” stars four-time Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper (“American Sniper,” “American Hustle,” “Silver Linings Playbook”) and multiple award-winning, Oscar-nominated music superstar Lady Gaga, in her first leading role in a major motion picture. Cooper helms the drama, marking his directorial debut.
In this new take on the tragic love story, he plays seasoned musician Jackson Maine, who discovers—and falls in love with—Ally (Gaga). She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer… until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.
The cast of “A Star is Born” also includes Andrew Dice Clay, with Dave Chappelle and Sam Elliott.
In addition to playing Ally, Gaga, who earned her Oscar nod for the song “Til It Happens to You” from “The Hunting Ground,” performs original songs in the film, which she wrote with Cooper and a handful of artists, including Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell and Mark Ronson. All the music is original and was recorded live.
“A Star is Born” is produced by Bill Gerber, Jon Peters, Bradley Cooper, Todd Phillips and Lynette Howell Taylor. Ravi Mehta, Basil Iwanyk, Niija Kuykendall, Sue Kroll, Michael Rapino and Heather Parry serve as executive producers. The screenplay is by Eric Roth and Bradley Cooper & Will Fetters.
Collaborating with Cooper behind the scenes are Oscar-nominated director of photography Matthew Libatique (“Black Swan”), production designer Karen Murphy, three-time Oscar-nominated editor Jay Cassidy (“American Hustle,” “Silver Linings Playbook,” “Into the Wild”), and costume designer Erin Benach.

After seeing “A star is born” my conclusion is that i want to see it again! and again, and a million times again! Just go with your heart open and let the music take you in….
